Plasma cutting
Plasma cutting is another very well-known material cutting process. It vaporizes the material thru a jet of ionised gas with temperature of up to 30 000°C. It allows rather high speed cutting of carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, copper and other conductive materials, with thickness up to 70mm.

In plasma cutting electrically conductive metals are sliced through by a super accelelrated stream of hot ionized gasses (oxygen, air, inert and others depending on material being cut), compressed in a plasma state. Hand-held torches usually cut up to 38 mm (1.5 in) thick steel sheets, but CNC torches can cut steel up to 150 mm (6 in) thick.
The method of plasma cutting is very useful, because it can cut both, thin sheets (0.5 to 4 mm) and thick sheets (5 to 70mm). However, it is most effective in terms of price, time and quality, from 8mm thick sheets, where the laser cut quality starts to decline, up to 70mm, where flame cutting becomes faster.
Typically plasma cutting is used for materials like Steel /carbon and stainless/ brass, copper and aluminum and compared to the laser cutting, plasma cutting is much more cost-efficient and faster for thicker workpieces /e.g. 15mm sheet metal, or pipe ф219×12,5/.
Since plasma cutters produce a very hot and very localized „cone“ to cut with, they are extremely useful for cutting sheet metal in curved or angled shapes.
Our state-of-art plasma cutting technology allows cutting from sheet metal under certain angle. This option is widely used to prepare chamfer on the parts for welding joints. Depending on the assembly the angle can be cut in order to match with other parts as well.
Our plasma cutting capacity allows cutting workpieces over area of 2000x12000mm, Up to 80mm. thickness of carbon steel and 70mm of stainless steel.
